Dear Violin and Bow Friends!
Please allow me to use this www site to make you familiar with the services provided by my firm.
Already for many years I have been dealing with production and renovation of bows of all types - from violin to double bass bows - and from all periods (Baroque - modern). It is a genuine and very interesting craft.
I have acquired the basic experience in this field at the School of Arts and Crafts in Luby u Chebu, focused for production of string musical instruments, where the production of musical instruments has a long tradition and where I also passed my final examinations. After successful finishing of my studies in 1997 I was working for several months at Strunal s. r. o. (formerly Cremona), which has been producing string instruments for more than one hundred years and exports its products to all over the world. There I also acquired some basic skills relating to production of bows. Since then I have been producing and renovating the bows on a professional basis in my own workshop in Říčany u Prahy. With regard to my specialisation, I am able to make various repairs of bows, no matter how damaged they are, from the bows for which it is necessary to provide a new coating only up to those for which it is necessary to repair almost all (replacement of the frog, winding system, varnish, alignment + bending, repair of a cracked or broken bow, etc.). Of course, a master's bow is, like the violin, always an absolutely unique masterpiece and therefore it is always necessary to consult every operation personally. This holds still more if the matter concerns production of new master's bows, where I place emphasis especially on individual client's requests (whether in terms of weight, length, gravity centre or the materials used).
The bows produced or renovated by me are used by players on both the domestic stage and by foreign musicians, e.g. from Germany, Spain, U.S.A., Slovakia, etc. I produce the master's bows especially according my own model adapted to individual client's requests with regard to the appearance and functional characteristics of the bows. The bows may feature eight edges, may be round, with the frog made of ebony, tortoiseshell or ivory, in a silver or gold set.
